The mission of the Division of Student Development is to support the personal, social, and intellectual development of our students and to complement and expand upon what they learn in the classroom. 我们知道，积极参与校园生活并与同学、教职员工建立有意义联系的学生最有可能获得积极的体验，并在大学和未来的努力中取得成功。 We urge students to become involved in one or more of our many clubs and organizations, to compete in or support intercollegiate, intramural and club sport activities, to seek opportunities to develop their leadership skills and preparation for graduate school and/or career, to participate in civic engagement activities and to utilize our many support services.
My staff and I are gratified to be a part of this caring and dynamic community and are very proud of our students and what they accomplish. Our primary goal and responsibility is to facilitate student success and to urge students to take full advantage of their opportunities while at William Paterson University.
We actively pursue opportunities to engage directly with students and to learn about their William Paterson University experience – what we are doing well and what we could do better – and welcome feedback via email, personal appointment, and interactions at student events and programs.
